Growing Shapes Investigation

In each of the Growing Shape Puzzles  the new shape is a scale factor 2 enlargement of the original.

3 of the smaller shapes are required to build the enlargement.

What happens if there is a scale factor enlargement of 3.

How many of the original shapes are required to complete the filled enlargement.

Consider first the triangle, then see what happens for the other shapes, the square, the trapezium and the L shape.

What happens if the scale factor is 4, 5 or 6?
