Interleaving circles to make patterns
Two Colour Pattern – the Running Star

Take paper circles of two colours . Fold
in half and in half again to get creases
at right angles.

These creases will help you to overlap the
circles the right amount.
Glue in position like this.

Use eight circles
to create this shape.

You can use this
as a template to make up similar
shapes. Use two colours.
Then interleave
the shapes you have created to create a tessellation.
